One of the most beautiful islands in the world

Koh Nang Yuan

Koh Nang Yuan

Said to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world

It is actually made up of three small islands connected by a sand bar.
In the past, the largest island of the three used to be called “Haang Tao” which means ‘turtle’s tail’ for it being that part of the turtle shape seen when viewing Koh Tao (which means ‘turtle island’) from the south. Nowadays its stunning scenery has made it a popular feature in books and postcards.

Koh Nang Yuan has some great snorkelling sites and it’s popular for scuba diving. There are five dives sites dotted around the island; White Rock, Nang Yuan Pinnacle (also known as Red Rock), Green Rock, Japanese Gardens and Twin Peaks. All are very popular, Japanese Gardens also being a great snorkelling spot as well. Don’t forget to visit the hilltop viewpoint there for a breathtaking view.

There is a daily boat service from Koh Tao to Koh Nang Yuan which departs from the Lomprayah pier . You can also hire a longtail boat from any beach on Koh Tao. All Around Island boat trips will also visit here.

Nang Yuan Terrace

A beautiful place on Koh Tao that is not to be missed during your stay here as it offers an amazing view of Koh Nang Yuan. Located on the far north west coast, at the end of the road, in Dusit Buncha Resort, this is the closest point between the two islands. Wonderful at any time of the day, even more so at sunset. An entrance fee is charged. This fee can be redeemed for drinks at the resort’s restaurant.
