June Juea Bay, Koh Tao

The sea in June Juea Bay is relatively shallow but filled with hard corals, such as staghorn and foliose corals. Hawksbill turtles can be spotted here, although they are typically shy and cautious. For the best snorkeling experience, it’s recommended to swim northwest towards Cape Je Ta Kang, where underwater life is more abundant.

There are a handful of accommodations in June Juea Bay, including two small, family-operated beachfront bungalow resorts, and the luxurious Pinnacle Resort. Either of these options will offer you a very peaceful atmosphere that is hardly found elsewhere on Koh Tao nowadays. Accessing the bay can be done by motorbike via the steep Sai Nuan Road or by a scenic twenty-minute walk along the shoreline from Chalok Baan Kao Bay, passing through View Point Resort.
