French Kiss Divers Koh Tao Review — Koh Tao Complete Guide

First opened in 2012, French Kiss Divers is an SSI-affiliated dive school that caters to the Francophone travel market visiting Koh Tao, Thailand.

Over the years, French Kiss Divers has built a strong reputation for offering a wide range of diving training opportunities. Beginner divers can earn their Open Water and Advanced certifications, all taught in small groups (maximum of four people) by experienced instructors. Families with young children are welcome, as the dive school provides children’s gear and tanks. Confined water training usually takes place in one of Koh Tao’s many shallow bays, allowing students to become comfortable in the underwater environment from the very beginning.

The dive school operates from two beautiful beachfront locations on Koh Tao. One is conveniently located near the Songserm Pier in Mae Haad Bay, while the other sits at the eastern end of Chalok Baan Kao Bay. In the morning, it heads out for a two-dive trip suited for fun divers or students completing deeper training. In the afternoon, the boat goes out again for shallower dives, ideal for beginners and skills development.

In addition to beginner SSI training, long-term travellers can pursue professional certifications, such as Divemaster or SSI Instructor. Instructor training courses are offered monthly. French Kiss also provides PADI-to-SSI instructor crossover courses, which can be completed in just a few days. What sets this dive school apart is its affiliation with the Fédération Française d’Études et de Sports Sous-Marins (FFESSM)—an internationally recognized certification that opens up more training and depth opportunities.
