Starting as a small dive shop in Sai Daeng Beach in 2006, Impian Divers has made a name for itself by doing dive training a bit differently.
Moving to
Mae Haad Bay in 2012, Impian Divers Koh Tao teaches most of their courses following the
IDD program (Instructor Dive Development), which is a well-known European professional dive organisation and is internationally recognised. PADI and SSI courses are offered as well; however, most students get IDD certified. All dive courses are taught with the international dive standards and follow the general structure and skills practice for the Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue courses. Courses can begin at any time, and students learn in groups no larger than four people per instructor with personally trained in-house instructors. One of the most popular courses is the IDD Open Water, which can be taught in 2 ½ days and included four open water dives. All equipment is included in the course price. After students have completed part of their classroom training, they are taken out to a secluded and shallow bay around
Koh Tao to practice the basic skills needed to become competent and safe scuba divers. Doing the confined training in the shallow sea gives students more confidence for their first open water dives when they go to deeper depths.
