Cafe del Sol Restaurant

Cafe del Sol Restaurant, Koh Tao

Koh Tao’s well-established restaurant Cafe del Sol is a blend of French and Italian cuisine. Located in Mae Haad, within a short walk of the main pier, the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Having fallen in love with Koh Tao when travelling, chef Roberto and his friends decided to stay here and founded the restaurant in 1999 as the first French restaurant on the island. Cafe del Sol’s goal is and has always been to satisfy its customers.

Some popular breakfast choices are the omelettes, set German, English, and American breakfasts, and a la carte items like muesli with yoghurt and fruit. Choose from various coffees, such as Americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos. Fresh fruit juices and delicious smoothies are also available. The lunch menu lists specialized sandwiches such as Napoli (raw ham and mozzarella), Greek (feta cheese, green pepper, and olives), and salami. The dinner menu has several salad choices like Chef or Nicoise salads and starters like bruschetta, beef or fish carpaccio, and Provençal plate (fresh mozzarella, roasted eggplant, and peppers). After enjoying your starter, you can choose from the famous steaks, juicy burgers, pizzas with various toppings, or homemade pasta as your main course. Complete your meal with a dessert like crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, or apple tarts, all made fresh on-site.

The restaurant offers large tables to suit all party sizes and has been in the exact location since opening, so returning guests always know where to find them.
